ONE ITALIAN RELEASED FROM THE CLUTCHES 26/03/2012

It has been intimated to media persons that the Maoists on Sunday evening releasing 1 Italian tourists abducted from Ganjam-Kandhamal Border. Lastly Claidia Colangelo had a sigh of relief.

Another Italian Tourist is still in there captivity and the abducted MLA is still untraceable.

When asked by THESE DAYS (INDINO) , the tourist replied that he is elated and in his seventh heaven. He felt relaxed and there is no threat to his family.

The Maoists actually keeping every track record of the other tourist , who is in their captive Bosuco Paolo, who was living in Puri District of Odisha since 9 months as an unauthorized tour agent, and Laxmipur MLA Jhina Hikaka, who was kidnapped from near Toyapur village on the Koraput-Laxmipur road at about 1 am on Saturday.

CM prayed to the rebels for the immediate release of Paolo and Hikaka .

Colangelo, who is a native of Rocca Dipapa, Rome added that he would visit his place very soon but would love to come back to India but to the Maoists infected areas. He further said that the Maoists possibly taken him and his countrymen Bosuco Paolo while in a trekking mission near the Kandhamal and Ganjam Border.The Maoists handed over Colangelo to one of the journalists Sandeep Sahu.
In the evening , Colngelo aged about 60 years old met Italy’s Consul general in Kolkatta Joel Melchiori in BBSR.


The main boss of the Maoists Leader Sabyasachi Panda, who was behind the operation assured a private TV Channel that they would free Paolo once they gained some sort of faith from the government and their 13 points demands.

There was , however no trace or words from the Maoists about the abducted MLA. According to Home Secretary U N Behera , “ We are waiting for some sort of response from the abductor.

Media sources said that the ruling BJD was exploring back channel negations with the extrimists and also with the Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sanga, believed to be a Maoists outfit for negotiations and release of MLA HIkaka. The Maoist rebel Sabysachi Panda blamed the killing of a policeman in Malkangiri as well as the the legislator’s abductor and admitted that it was a fall out between the outlawed CPI (Maoist). He also lambasted the government , basically the the Andra-Odisha Border Special Zone for violating his call for ceasefire but assured that no violence will take place in Kandhamal,Gajapati, Ganjam and Rayagada , if the government will carry out the negotiations properly.

Lastly, Foreigners in puri are happy with Colagelo’s safe return. “ This is an excellent news in fact. But Maoists should release Paolo too. It was good to see the people of Odisha holding Candlelight march for safe release of the Italians,” said one Italian Tourists Alfred Rambola.
