MAOISTS APPOINTED NEGOTIATORS TO RESUME TALKS, CM NAVEEN APPEALS 26/03/2012

After the release of Italian tourists, Claudio Colangelo by Maoists on Sunday, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik once again appeals Maoist to release Laxmipur MLA, Jhinna Hikaka and other Italian hostage, Paolo Bosusco.



He said this after a high level review meeting at the secretariat. CM requestS the current negotiators, Dandapani Mohanty and Dr BD Sharma, to come forward for resuming the negotiations. He also appealed to the Maoists to immediately release the second Italian national.


He appealed to the Maoists of the Koraput-Srikakulam Division zonal committee to let the Government know about the condition of the Laxmipur MLA, Jhinna Hikaka and name their negotiators so that Government could take immediate steps to start negotiations with them.


Meanwhile, reacting to the Chief Minister’s appeal for talks to resume, Dandapani Mohanty and Dr BD Sharma said the talks are on suspended animation and they would like to resume the talks. “But we have not received any formal communication from the Chief Minister or Government so far,” they said.
