The Italian national Paolo Bosusco who was freed by his Maoist abductors in Kandhamal district and brought over to the state capital today evening left for New Delhi. Paolo to go to Italy from the national capital.
It should be noted that on Thursday morning Sabyasachi Panda, handing over Italian national Paolo Bosusco to Dandapani Mohantynear Raikia in Phulbani district. The Maoist leader handed over the Puri-based Italian operator Paolo after Dandapani Mohanty gave a copy of the joint statement of the three government officials and the two Maoist-nominated mediators to Sabyasachi Panda. Dandapani Mohanty brought over Paolo Bosusco to the State Guest House in the capital by road all the way from Raikia.
Paolo , 58 years old said he had spent 21 years in Odisha and across India , he is feeling Noslagic while going back to his own country.He was running a travel agency named Odisha Adventurous Trekking at Puri. He could not camouflage his emotions saying ,” Odia people will always remain close to him.”
He further thanked the Odisha Government and the Indian Authorities and the Ambassador of Italy.
Paolo straight away denied that he along with Conlangelo was trying to photograph the tribals. Actually he was feeling ashamed of being deported to his country, he liked the Odias very much and he became a one with their culture.
After his arrival Paolo said to media that, "I am fine. I was treated well." Paolo told the media that he would soon return to his motherland. He said, "The Odias and Odisha hold special place in my heart.' He He was however not allowed to meet the media persons who were waiting outside and ushered in to meet the Italian ambassador Giacomo Sanfelice di Monteforte and consul general Joel Nechiori who were waiting for him.
Paolo was kidnapped with another Italian national Claudio Colangelo on March 14 in Daringbadi area while trekking in the jungles. The Maoists had earlier freed Claudio on March 25.
