BONE CHILLING COLD WAVE SWEEPS ACROSS ODISHA 15/01/2012

Severe cold wave have been sweeping the State for the last five days during the current season after a one week’s pause, thereby affecting normal life.


As per sources, the mercury level dipped to minus 2.5 degree Celsius recorded at Daringbadi in Kandhamal district.

According to the local Meteorological Department, severe cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over interior Odisha and over the coastal regions of the State during the next 48 hours.

Phulbani recorded the lowest temperature of 2.8 degree Celsius, Titilagarh recorded 4.5, Keonjhar 5, Baripada 5.2, Sambalpur 5.6, Jharsuguda 6.3, Hirakud 7.2 and Balasore 8.6 degree Celsius. While the minimum temperature recorded in Bhubaneswar at 10.2 degree Celsius, Cuttack 10.3, Puri 11.6 degree Celsius on Sunday.
