Mild tremors felt in Odisha; Tsunami alert in 6 districts; CM convenes emergency meeting 11/04/2012

Mild tremors were felt in many parts of the state following a massive earthquake that hit Indonesia today afternoon measuring 8.7 in Richter scale. According to reports, tremors were felt in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Khurda, Kendrapara and Balugaon. A tsunami warning was issued for the whole Indian Ocean.
Odisha Chief Minister convenes emergency meeting over this Tsunami alert. The state government issues high alert s on six districts. Stay alert to vacate coastal areas says Relief Commissioner.
Due to this Rain & thundershowers are likely hit the coastal state of India in the next 4 to 6 hours. The showers would be accompanied with strong winds speed 40-70 kmph covering cities of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Ganjam, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Khurdha and Phulbani districts.
