PRESIDENT’S AWARD GOES TO 14 POLICEMEN OF ODISHA 27/01/2012

14 policemen from Odisha get President’s medal for excellence in different categories for 2011 and 2012. For 2011, two senior police officers have been selected for the President’s police medal for distinguished service and 14 policemen have been chosen for police medal for meritorious service. For 2012, three police officers have been selected for President’s police medal for distinguished service and 11 personnel for police medal for meritorious service.
The President’s award winners for the year 2011 include Sanjeev Marik, additional director general of police, headquarters, and Surendra Panwar, inspector-general of police, vigilance directorate. The President’s award for 2012 would be conferred to Satyajit Mohanty, director, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy and inspector-general of police, training, M. Akhaya, inspector-general of police (personnel), state police headquarters, and Bijay Kumar Dash, additional superintendent of police, vigilance and in-charge superintendent of police, coordination, vigilance directorate.
817 personnel have been awarded police medals on the occasion of the Republic Day this year. President’s Police Medals for Gallantry to 07, Police Medals for Gallantry to 87 personnel, President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service have been awarded to 93 and Police Medals for Meritorious Service have been awarded to 630 personnel. 38 personnel have been awarded correctional Service Medals. President’s Correctional Service Medals for Distinguished Service to 01 personnel and Correctional Service Medals for Meritorious Service have been awarded to 37 personnel.
