THE GUINESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORD CONFIRMED THE WORLD RECORD OFFICIALLY: THE MEGA ODISHI DANCE SHOW BY 555 ARTISTS 23/01/2012

The Guinness Book of World Records has confirmed the spectacular show by 555 Odissi dancers on December 23 last year at Kalinga Stadium here as a world record. “This is just to confirm that I have approved your attempt as a current world record,” Fast Track Guinness World Records Limited records manager Kristian Teufel said in a letter to IPAP-USA CEO Pratap Das.


Das was the organiser of the event with the active support of the Department of Tourism and Culture of the Government of Odisha, where 555 Odissi dancers performed to set a world record. Das in return congratulated Tourism and Culture Principal Secretary Ashok Kumar Tripathy for his all out support to make the event successful.


Tripathy was instrumental in organising the show supported by his team of officers from the department. The IPAP-USA also urged Tripathy to organise a meeting (after the panchayat elections) with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for officially handing over the Guinness Book of World Records Certificate.
