Goa Mining Scam 7/10/2011
Even as the fate of the Goa legislature’s public accounts committee (PAC) report on illegal mining remained undecided on Wednesday, panel chairman and leader of the opposition Manohar Parrikar raised the issue in the assembly, saying almost half the iron ore exported from the state was illegal. Even as the PAC report heavily indicts the Goa govt in illegal mining scam. Chief minister Digambar Kamat has refused to comment on the report, a report that has exposed a scam worth 4 thousand crore rupees in Goa. Meanwhile the PAC chairman & leader of opposition is all set to table the report in the assembly on October 7.
The Goa legislative assembly's Public Accounts Committee (PAC), chaired by Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar, probing the state's illegal mining, has linked only one politician to the Rs 3,500 crore scam but not chief minister Digambar Kamat, sources said on Wednesday.
In a series of reports, pegged the value of illegal ore at Rs3,000 crore and revealed that half the mines in Goa are illegal. the actual mining scam in goa runs in 30000 crores which can be unraveled there is an impartial cbi inquiry .The kingpin in mining scam is the cm of goa the mining mafia run the govt of goa any body daring to raise a voice of dissent is silence by the powerfull mining mafia the shah commission has got a firsthand account of these during the hearing when full hall was filled by mining mafia supporters . the opposition in goa is dumb as mining mafia is financing them also its high time the supreme court takes cognizance and orders and cbi investigation under its supervision .otherwise goa will be finished under these corrupt cm.
The government records show that from the 66 mining lessees -- 15,444,245 tons (15 million metric tons) were extracted illegally in the past three years. Even if we take the sale price of that iron ore extracted at Rs 4,000 per metric ton as per the lowest market value of iron-ore sold in the open market; it will give you a sum total amounting to over Rs 6,100 crore -- which is a estimate of the illegal mining done in Sattari and Sanguem as per the government of Goa records.
The land where every place scam take place. If goa a smallest state of india did not saved by corruption then what is about rajasthan,up,maharashtra a big place.
This land we are proud but leaders who are coming under people are shame.
Mine-operators and politicians seek to conceal their involvement in illegal mining by claims that they are “only” into equipment hire, truck, transport, barge operators or provider of labor. From their denials, impression is given that ore falls from the sky. Anyone can see the wanton recklessness and wild abandon in ravaging hills, forests and reserved wildlife .sanctuaries. They are like a murderer’s accomplices who also have blood on their hands; the accomplices say we “only” supplied the murder weapons, the get-away vehicle or provided accommodation to hide from law. The mine operators and all involved too have blood on their hands; no amount of explanation or washing or perfumes can hide it. An entire complex network has evolved over the years with the thieves, middleman and regulators having a grand time. Now that the party is gate-crashed by Dr Shah, we will hear Truck equipment, owners, and others trying to blackmail the inquiry by raising issues of employment, their families dependence and Loans.
Irrespective of entities identified who have perpetrated scandalous mega corruption scams of illegal mining of & exporting of iron ore from Goa congress will have to refer as bench mark all actions taken against illegal mining in Karnataka.
Revelations of illegal mining on massive scales will have definitive adverse effects on forthcoming general elections in Goa.
The main kingpin in mining scam in goa is Digambar kamat as he is holding the charge of mining minister for last 12 years continuously and as cm from 2007. He is involved in indiscriminate loot of goa his name is not mentioned by parrikar as mining lobby which is rulling goa has told him not to do so .He is related to mining families and only a inpartial probe cbi as incase of Bellary will unravel the truth the bjp in goa is not existing as an opposition as people from all parties are involved in mining .The supreme court should immediately interfere suomoto and order an cbi investigation under its supervision then only the scam will emerge and all those involved can be arrested and dumped in jails and all money recovered from them.
There is nexus between politicians, bureaucrats, police and forest department officials, as per the reports. What congress has to say? If this is the democracy then, I think democracy has failed in our country.
