ANNA AND HIS HISSAR STATEGEY 10/10/2011
Social activist Anna Hazare on Friday carried out his threat against the Congress for the Hissar (Haryana) Lok Sabha byelection to be held on October 13. Now one can say that anti corruption means anti congress. Corruption means congress shortly. What a irony? Is this a not a political stand?
Addressing public meetings, activists Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia also sought to clear the air on any links with the RSS. “Of course, he (Hazare) is putting himself above (Parliament). Every citizen is above Parliament…. The citizen has every right to say Parliament has not done the job,” Team Anna’s Arvind Kejriwal said in a TV interview, justifying Hazare’s fast to get the bill passed by Parliament.
Kejriwal said Hazare twice sat on a fast for the Jan Lokpal Bill but the Congress-led UPA government was yet to bring it in Parliament.
“You will have to inflict a historic defeat on the Congress. If you defeat the party (in the by poll), this will be Anna’s victory,” he told the gathering.
Though there are 40 candidates in the fray, the contest is mainly between Congress nominee Jai Prakash (58), Haryana Janhit Congress’ Kuldeep Bishnoi (42) and INLD’s Ajay Singh Chautala.
Bishnoi is the son of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal whose death in June necessitated the byelection.
“I am Anna’s fan. People are well aware about the limitless corruption indulged in by the Congress government. They are eager to teach the party a lesson. We fully support Hazare in his campaign,” Bishnoi said.
Some blames Anna team has been supported by RSS but Arvind kejriwal in a news channel disdained/refused it my saying that no political party or organization is going to hijack their manifestos.
"Team Anna in a clear message to the Congress on Sunday states that they are treating Hissar as a referendum on Lokpal. Speaking to reporters today team Anna's Arvind Kejriwal says some people from government approached Anna yesterday but there can be no compromise on this."
“We have nothing against the Congress if its government passes the Jan Lokpal bill to curb corruption in the country. If that happens, we will not ask anyone to vote against the Congress,” he told the gathering.
He clarified that Team Anna was not asking voters to vote for any particular party or candidate.
“If due to the (Team Anna) campaign, a corrupt person gets elected to parliament, the Jan Lokpal bill will ensure that proper action is taken against him,” Kejriwal said. Alleging that the Congress and corruption were synonymous, Kejriwal asked people to defeat the corrupt forces.
He said if the bill is not passed soon, team Anna would intensify its campaign against the Congress in poll-bound states.
Referring to RSS chief's remarks that Sangh volunteers took part in Hazare's movement, Kejriwal hit back saying those trying to seek credit should take credit for Gujarat riots and corruption that rocked the Karnataka Government under the BJP Chief Minister.
The ruling Congress in Haryana said it was not perturbed by Team Anna Hazare's campaign for the Hisar Lok Sabha bypoll.
Speaking to a TV channel in Nagpur, Salman Khurshid, union law minister and senior party leader urged Anna Hazare not to interfere in politics, as his job was social work, not politics. "Politics is our job, let us do it. Social service is your job, so please stick to it."
Actually, people should understand that Anna is doing a big social service by this act the only objective of which is to ensure that Jan Lokpal Bill is passed at the earliest. Why does Congress not want to pass it? People of India are in deep blue sea and in great conundrum, whom to believe and whom not to.
Armed with a recorded message by social activist Anna Hazare, some of his team members has already started their anti-corruption and anti-Congress campaign from here ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha bypoll.
It assumes that Whatever little doubts were in common man's mind, have been set to rest after the statement of RSS chief Bhagwat. Hazare may still try to be coy. BJP out of power is most dangerous out fit for the unity, safety and security of our nation. They will go to any extent to grab power, even if they have to worship donkies. However, our people are not so naive to fall in their trap again and again.
Lastly I would subscribe my views as follows “Bribe for all sort of legitimate work in public life has become a big problem. Can anybody from any ruling party in any state of our country can tell "what work an ordinary citizen can get done without paying bribe" you will find nothing can happen without paying bribe.”
